  • Two Retractable Turf Lanes (15’ wide x 75’ long each)

    • Use as 2 full-length cages for live pitching, batting practice, or extended reps

    • Divide into 4 smaller cages for hitting stations, small-group skill work, or pitching lanes

  • 30’ of Additional Turf Space

    • Even when cages are fully extended, there’s an additional 30’ of open turf (total length ~100’)

    • Perfect for defensive drills, conditioning, agility, and speed work

What a Session Looks Like

  • Baseball / Softball: Hitting stations in four cages, pitchers working live, defensive drills on open turf, plus gym-based strength & mobility training.

  • Soccer: Small-sided drills on the turf lanes, technical skill stations, finishing work, plus speed/agility development in the gym.

  • Lacrosse: Shooting lanes, passing stations, stick skills in the cages, conditioning and explosive work on the turf and in the gym.

  • Multi-Sport Performance: Speed mechanics, agility circuits, strength training, and skill work all integrated into one practice flow.

The Pure Strength Off-Season Training Process

Our off-season program is designed to optimize athletic performance through a structured and systematic approach. Each athlete follows a strategic progression to ensure maximum gains in strength, speed, mobility, and overall performance.

Step 1: Athlete Assessment & Intake

Before training begins, every athlete undergoes a comprehensive assessment to establish a performance baseline. This includes:

  • Anthropometric measurements (height, weight, body composition)

  • Strength testing to identify current capabilities

  • Mobility and movement screening to assess functional range of motion

  • Injury history review to address past or current limitations

 

This initial evaluation allows us to tailor the program to the athlete’s specific needs and goals.

Step 2: Integrated Programming & Nutritional Guidance

Using the data from the assessment, we integrate each athlete into our proven training blueprint, customizing it to their specific needs. This structured approach ensures they receive the right exercises, progressions, and adaptations for optimal results. Key components include:

  • Strength and power development exercises

  • Speed, agility, and conditioning drills

  • Mobility and flexibility work to enhance movement efficiency

  • Injury prevention strategies to reduce risk and improve longevity

  • Nutritional advice and guidance to support performance, recovery, and overall health

 

By following this framework, athletes receive a well-rounded, high-performance training system while ensuring their program aligns with their individual goals.

Step 3: Progressive Periodization & Adaptation

As the off-season progresses, training intensity and volume are strategically adjusted to match the athlete’s development. This includes:

  • Phased periodization to maximize strength, speed, and endurance gains

  • Ongoing assessments to track progress and refine programming

  • Sport-specific adaptations to ensure performance translates effectively to the ice

 

By following this structured approach, athletes can build a strong foundation, peak at the right time, and enter their season in peak physical condition.

WHO IS THIS PROGRAM FOR?

The Pure Strength Academy Off-Season Hockey Program is designed for serious hockey players from the U15 level to the pros. This training experience provides every athlete—regardless of age or level—with the same attention to detail, structure, and professional-level coaching.

To ensure optimal development, athletes are grouped based on age, training experience, and level of play. This allows for a competitive, challenging, and supportive environment where each player can progress at the right pace.

Each athlete will be assigned a dedicated training time, ensuring a structured and individualized approach within their training group. Additionally, weekly on-ice sessions are available, allowing players to seamlessly integrate their off-season strength and conditioning with skill development on the ice.

This program is built for players who are ready to commit to their growth, develop next-level strength and speed, and enter the season stronger, faster, and more prepared than ever before.

 

 

What's Included?

📅 May 20th – August 29th | 5 Days Per Week

The Pure Strength Academy Off-Season Hockey Program delivers a complete, high-performance training system designed to develop strength, speed, mobility, and on-ice skills while optimizing recovery and nutrition. Every athlete trains in a structured, professional environment with access to expert coaching, performance-driven programming, and specialized recovery services.

 

Strength & Conditioning

  • Five training sessions per week, focusing on strength, speed, agility, and power development

  • Professionally designed programming emphasizing explosiveness, durability, and performance

  • Weekly Track Sessions from mid-June to August

  • Specialized training days incorporating hill sessions, training outdoors, beach volleyball, and other competitive environments

 

Nutrition & Recovery Support

  • Personalized nutrition programming and guidance tailored to performance goals

  • Pre/post-workout nutrition including protein and snacks (granola, bananas, etc)

  • On-site meal service available for athletes to maintain proper nutrition throughout training

 

Mobility & Wellness 

  • Joga/yoga and mobility sessions to enhance movement efficiency and reduce injury risk

  • On-site massage therapy for muscle recovery and injury management

  • Chiropractor and physiotherapy services available as part of our staff for rehabilitation, movement correction, and performance optimization

 

On-Ice Development & Skill Work

  • Weekly on-ice skills sessions led by professional-level coaches

  • A fully integrated approach ensuring off-ice strength translates to on-ice performance

 

Professional Coaching & High-Performance Environment

Josh and his staff at PSA were a huge part of preparing me for my current hockey season.  My speed, agility, and conditioning vastly improved over the course of the summer because of his unique training methods.  Josh always had a positive attitude and I really felt I got the most out of each phase of the program because of his one-on-one attention.  He was hands on and always challenged me to push myself to achieve more.  The max lifts I achieved by the end of the summer were some of my personal bests.  I did not only become stronger, but my overall lifting techniques became better as Josh identified and encouraged me to work on areas where I needed improvement.
